All About Acerola
Latin name : Malphighia glabra
Originating from Yucatan, the bright red acerola fruit is known for its rich vitamin C content. Now commercially cultivated in tropics and subtropics throughout the world, the acerola fruit grows in hot and dry climates and is both sweet and sour in taste.
Amongst its many varied applications the acerola fruit is most often used to flavour alcoholic beverages and baby foods.

The acerola plant is able to bloom and produce flowers in the midst of drought and survive in the most extreme hot weather conditions.
