Originating in Southeast Asia, the bright yellow citrus fruit is cultivated in tropical and temperate climates around the world.

Naturally very acidic lemon juice is often used to flavour food and drink products as well as an ingredient in many cleaning products.

The acid of lemon juice can be used to disable the enzymes that cause browning and degradation in certain fruits, such as the apple, avocado and banana.
