All About Melon
It is believed that melons were a favourite with the Egyptians and its existence dates backs to 2400bc.
Belonging to the gourd family, the melon is a large tough skinned fruit with a juicy and fleshy centre. Besides being eaten raw, the melon is often used processed in fruit juice drinks, ice creams and sorbets.

There are many different varieties of the melon: the winter melon, the Santa-Claus melon and the cantaloupe are just a few examples of the extensive melon family.
