Hannah helps keep things moving

As part of our series of ‘day-in-the-life-of’ profiles, we’re catching up this month with our Stock Controller/Supply Chain Operative Hannah Rowe.

Hannah, who also helps supervise our sales support pod, following the supply chain that step further to the customer, joined us when she was 19 after studying at Exeter College.

She explained: “My main focus each day is ensuring we have the correct levels of stock for customer orders and production, identifying product requirements via our forecasting tools, liaising on customer orders and production requests, and ensuring the individual components are in the correct place at the correct time!

“I also oversee the production request process and look at raw materials for the blends we do in the factory, but now I also work with the sales support pod, I get to move through to the customer phase of operations too.

“I normally have several things on the go at once – juggling orders and logistics from all over the world, placing new purchasing orders and purchase contracts, production requests and recipes, along with a lot of problem fixing. A day doesn’t go by without a problem…or several. But we fix them and I love the challenges we face. I also enjoy the pace here. It’s great being so busy and having such a varied job in a dynamic environment.

“I also enjoy my downtime and like to have a good work life balance. When I am not here at Cobell, I’m the lead female vocalist in a local function band called ‘Basher Tate’. We play at weddings, parties and other functions, along with a few public gigs – I love it!”
